An elderly woman has died after an air ambulance was called to Brierley Hill this morning.
West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) was alerted shortly after 9.30am today (Wednesday, January 10) to an incident in the water near Delph Road.
Two ambulances, a paramedic officers and the Midlands Air Ambulance were called to the scene where an elderly woman was found in a critical condition.
Despite the best efforts from the ambulance team, nothing could be done to save the woman.
A spokesperson for WMAS said: “We were called at 9.31am to an incident in the water nearby to Delph Road in Brierley Hill. Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midland Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene.
"Upon arrival we found an elderly female in a critical condition. Despite the best efforts of ambulance staff, it became clear that nothing more could be done to save her and she was confirmed deceased at the scene.”
