TWO people were taken to hospital after a crash that blocked a busy road in Wollaston at the weekend, the ambulance service has confirmed.
The three-vehicle crash, which happened on Bridgnorth Road on Saturday January 27 saw a man and a woman taken to hospital for injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening.
The incident happened at lunchtime near the village Post office.
A pedestrian was one of the casualties, the other was a motorist who is believed to have suffered a medical episode while driving.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said of the incident: ““We were called at 12.39pm on Saturday to a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Bridgnorth Road, Wollaston in Stourbridge.
“Two ambulances and a paramedic officer attended the scene.
“Upon arrival we found a woman who was the pedestrian and a man who was the driver of the car.
“The pedestrian was assessed and had sustained potentially serious injuries that were not believed to be life threatening.
“The driver, who is believed to have suffered a medical episode at the wheel, was assessed and had sustained injuries not believed to be life threatening.
“Both were conveyed to Russells Hall Hospital for further assessment.”
