A POPULAR Stourbridge patisserie is set to re-open its doors today (Thursday February 8).
Surantha Patisserie in Stourbridge High Street closed on July 31 last year having been open since 2019.
However, it is now set to open its doors to customers once again from today – with award-winning pastry chef Surantha Rupasingha at the helm.
Surantha, who lives in Stourbridge, said: “I am very happy to be able to serve the lovely friendly people of Stourbridge once again.
“It was with a heavy heart that I was forced to close in July last year, due to circumstances beyond my control.
“These problems are now in the past and I am looking forward to serving customers, both old and new, at Surantha Patisserie Limited on Stourbridge High Street, to sample my award-winning cakes and pastries.”
The patisserie is known for its macaroons, designer cakes, crepes and waffles, croissants and gelato.
Stourbridge MP Suzanne Webb welcomed the news that it is to re-open and said: “I very much look forward to popping in soon.”
