GLASSES have been raised at independent Stourbridge drinks retailer which has clinched a top industry award.

The Wine Press, in Grange Lane, was named Independent Drinks Retailer of the Year at the Drinks Retailing Awards 2024.

Held at The Dorchester Hotel in London on February 6, the awards highlighted the most outstanding retailers in the country, with The Wine Press praised by judges for its first-rate customer service.

Edward Wilson, at The Wine Press, thanked customers for supporting the family-run business which has been trading since 1982, said: “We are thrilled to have won this prestigious award, to be seen as exemplary by our peers is quite simply the ultimate accolade.”

Drinks Retailing editor Lucy Britner congratulated the winners and said: “We continue to be blown away by the incredible standards in drinks retailing.

“Our winners were chosen from a shortlist of entrants who were able to demonstrate growth, innovation and excellent customer service.

“Our on-the-road judge Nigel Huddleston conducted mystery shops as well as interviews with the finalists, before feeding back to a panel of expert judges.”

She added: “To make it onto the shortlist is a huge achievement and to win is a mark of excellence.”
