A STOURBRIDGE gym has confirmed it is closing its doors next month having never recovered from the losses suffered during the Covid lockdowns.

Pump Gyms in the Ryemarket is closing its doors for the last time on March 21.

Gym users have expressed their sadness on social media at the news.

One said: “Very sorry it’s going. Especially for the lovely staff.”

Another said: “Gutted! I love the Zumba classes!”

A spokesperson for Pump Gyms Stourbridge confirmed the news and said: “It is with our deepest regret that we have made the decision to close the Stourbridge site on March 21.

“The decision to close is not something we wanted, but due to the increase in running costs it has proved too difficult to make up the losses we encountered during lockdown.”

Anytime Fitness in Halesowen confirmed it is also closing its doors due to rising operational and energy costs.

Members were told on February 16 that the gym would be closing for good at midday on Friday March 1.
