TWO Brierley Hill businessman say they have been working hard to win over customers at their pizza parlour after its previous owner was taken to court.

Farshid Kamarehei and Mohsen Malek took over Pars Pizza & Kebab in Brierley Hill High Street in September 2023.

Business was growing, they said, until the case of its former director Ameet Kulkarni wound up in court.

Kulkarni, of Lucetta Rise, Swindon, had pleaded guilty to six food hygiene and safety violations and four health and safety offences after an investigation by Dudley Council’s environmental health service and he was sentenced at Dudley Magistrates’ Court on February 26.

Kulkarni was served with a 12-month community order with a requirement to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work. He was also ordered to pay costs of £1,682.

The district judge in the case said there had been an attempt to improve standards at the eatery after it was given a zero rating by food hygiene inspectors, and this resulted in a revised rating of four before the business changed hands.

It is now run by Mahan MK Ltd and has been given a complete makeover, new boss Farshid said.

He told the News: “Everything has changed. We’ve got new staff, new equipment.”

The business, which is awaiting a new food hygiene score, has a four-out-of-five customer rating on Just Eat.
