The chapel choir at Shrewsbury School recently (21st March) sang at Bath Abbey, performing in choral evensong in the historic Church. Led by Head of Choral Music Mr. Robbins the choir performed a string of classical Christian music in the service, the service was well-received by the audience and by the students themselves.

The evensong drew an audience including parents, local primary students, and regular church attendees with the performers themselves numbering over 60 including the usual Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Base sections. The musical quality on display was superb, including solos and hymns.

As this was an educational trip, students also got the opportunity to explore Bath on their own, with many discovering Bath’s historic sites such as the baths or visiting its shops and attractions. A chorister on the trip commented that ‘though it was exhausting it was my first singing trip and definitely worth it’.
