The Midlands Air Ambulance Charity has been rated 'outstanding' following a detailed inspection.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC), the independent regulator of health and adult social care in England, confirmed the exceptional rating after conducting assessments at the charity's Strensham airbase in Worcestershire.

In their assessment, the CQC team found the lifesaving service provided by the charity to be safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led.

The Strensham airbase achieved an 'outstanding' rating in all five of these categories.

In a separate assessment last year from a different CQC team, the charity's headquarters in Cosford and Tatenhill airbase on the Shropshire/Staffordshire border also received 'outstanding' ratings.

Hanna Sebright, chief executive of the charity, said: "We are extremely proud of the ‘outstanding’ CQC rating awarded to our airbase at Strensham, especially having been awarded the highest rating in all five areas.

“To have achieved an ‘outstanding’ rating for our three airbases this year is a significant achievement which highlights our commitment to the patients we treat within the communities we serve, providing the best pre-hospital care to those in critical need.”
