TAMWORTH 0 OLD HALES COLTS 17.

OLD Halesonians travelled away for a very tough encounter that ended with them picking up their third win in a row.

After their exhilarating win against Dudley last week, Old Hales did not have the same bite and fluency in their play but still had more to offer than the home side.

The visitors started the game well and indeed the first quarter saw them put Tamworth under extreme pressure.

In this period Old Hales had chances to score in particuler had the distribution to winger Jake Shellis been more sympathetic then two scoring opportunities would surely ended in tries.

Tamworth had a very big set of forwards and came back with some big drives but Old Hales defence by Rob Butler ,David Hunt and Luke Cullis was abrasive to say the least.

In the lineout Lewis and Yeadon provided a regular supply of ball to the visitors threequarters but their handling was not as clean as it should have been and it was left to the forwards to rectify this .

From a lineout ,Tamworth fumbled the ball and Stevie Deakin lept in to score an opportunist try which he also converted.

The second half saw both sides make team changes without changing the run of play.

The hosts continued to play through their forwards but Old Hales defence was more than adequate.

Andy Chambers and Jordan Herbert added a bit more fizz around the loose play but again Old Hales threequarters were unable to make the final pass count.

With both set of forwards locked in battle it was left to Andy Holloway to unlock the situation when he chipped into space for Jake Harley-Yeadon to show great speed for a second rowto seize the ball and deftly pass to Andy Tromans who crossed the line with consumate ease to score a deserved try and then converted to give Old Hales a hard fought but well deserved win.
