KINGSWINFORD power-lifting champion Pat Reeves is inviting musclemen and women to bench press their way to success in a new competition she’s organised.
The pint-sized athlete and cancer survivor from Bromley Lane has organised the West Midlands Bench Press Championship event at the Apollo Gym in Birmingham on March 27 - for fitness fanatics keen to show off their strength.
Pat, aged 65, recently claimed new British records for bench press and deadlift at BDFPA's British Single Championships in Ipswich and is now in training for the World Championships in the USA in June.
The gutsy grandmother, who has been picking up trophies and titles for the last 20 years, is now hoping to set more records and is also busy trying to inspire those new to the sport to take up competitions.
Anyone interested in competing in the West Midlands Bench Press Championship can call her on 01384 270270 or email pat@foodalive.org - the deadline date for entries is Friday March 18.
Kingswinford bodybuilder James Fernihough will be guest of honour at the event.
