LATEST: Tuesday nights results. Blue Square Bet North: Redditch United 1 Droylsden 3; Midland Alliance: Friar Lane and Epworth 0 Studley 1.

Redditch United boss Simon Redhead was due to take his place in the starting line up against Droylsden at the Valley last night (Tuesday).

Redditch not only suffered the heartache of a last minute defeat at Eastwood in a 2-1 loss, but also lost senior players Tom Warmer and Joe Hull as well as Adam Wood.

Hulll had to have five stitches in a head wound and Warmer suffered a setback in his first appearance since before Christmas.

Redditch have used up their loan allocation and Redhead is hoping to persuade Walsall to let them keep Sean Geddes and George Bowerman on loan until the end of the season.

Youth team goalkeeper Own Hancox had to play at left back for the last ten minutes at Eastwood, and Redhead himself played for the last 20 minutes.

The boss admitted it was difficult just to put a team out at the moment.

He said: “Thing aren’t going for us with the injuries and conceding last minute goals to lose games.

“At Eastwood we had dragged ourselves back into it only to lose the centre half and we had to defend a last minute corner without him.

“If I am having to play myself then things are pretty desperate but I don’t really have much choice.

“We are struggling for goals and have played six lost six yet we are not playing that badly but it’s results that count.

“It is tough to get people in with the situation here and the fact we have used up all our loans but we just have to keep our heads up and hopefully the hard work will pay off.”

Redditch are at home to Workington on Saturday and travel to Harrogate next Tuesday (7.45pm).
