NEIL Shillingford will urge his Dudley Kingswinford players to “finish the job” with a derby win this Saturday.

DK are on the brink of winning the Midlands One West title after last weekend’s 33-19 win over second-placed Sutton Coldfield and know one more win would virtually seal the crown because of their vastly superior points difference.

Shillingford admits his side are on a high but says players must re-focus in order to bring down an Old Halesonians side keen to play party poopers when they visit Heathbrrook (kick-off 3pm).

He said: “It was a very, very good performance from the lads on Saturday and it has put us in a great position.

“But we will be getting back on the training pitch this week as normal and we will be ready for Old Hales.

“We know they will be coming here keen to spoil the party and we have to re-focus and ensure we are at 100 per cent.

“We have picked up a few knocks in recent weeks but the players who came in have done well.”

Saturday’s win also maintained DK’s incredible 100 per cent record and it is now 23 wins from 23 games this term.

With just two games remaining after the derby clash, Shillingford says the club is still determined to seal the title in style.

He added: “Saturday was a big win and we had a few drinks after the game and enjoyed it.

“However, all the talk is of an even bigger celebration in a few weeks if we can win the title and go through the season unbeaten.

“We won’t be taking our foot off the gas.”
