BLACK Country X Factor star Wagner made a hush-hush visit to a borough school to surprise brave eight-year-old Joseph Timmins who suffered from leukaemia.

The flamboyant singer kept his promise to call at the youngster’s school and joined in with family and friends as they celebrated Joseph’s success in battling against the disease and the support he has received.

Stunned staff and pupils at Cradley CE Primary School were amazed when the larger-than-life character from Pensnett walked into their assembly last Friday and joined Joseph and his friends for a ride in a stretch limo and a meal out.

Mum Amy Timmins said: “Wagner was absolutely amazing, completely different to how he appeared on the TV. He was brilliant with the children and really did care.

“For the man to give up that amount of time, we cannot thank him enough.”

The star, who shot to fame last year, even went back to Joseph’s Cradley home to continue the party after the meal for 30 friends and family.

Joseph, who has been in remission since finishing his treatment at Birmingham Children’s Hospital two years ago, met Wagner at the X Factor tour in Birmingham and the singer from Blewitt Street promised to visit him at school.

His mum said the visit was a “real boost for him” and Joseph described the day as “all his dreams rolled into one”.

Wagner finished the nationwide X-Factor tour in April in Cardiff and he has now embarked on a busy schedule of solo gigs around the country.

He is due to perfom in Scotland on Friday May 27, Newquay on Sunday and London on Monday.

But he is keeping tight-lipped about a TV appearance he is set to make next month, which will include a “little bit” of singing.
