POLICE want to hear from anyone who may have been offered stolen fishing tackle after £6,000 worth of gear was stolen from a garage in Pedmore.

The state-of-the-art tackle was taken from a garage in Compton Road between 6.30pm on Sunday July 3 and 1.45pm Monday July 4.

Sergeant Steve Gordon, based at Stourbridge Police Station, said: “The majority of this equipment has been UV property marked, so if anyone does try and sell the fishing gear for money the police will be able to trace them back to their rightful owner.

“I am keen to speak to anyone who may know the whereabouts of this tackle or anyone who have been approached by someone to buy fishing items.”

The items stolen were: • Black 16m Daiwa spectron fishing pole • Yellow and black 16m Preston Dia-Tex Carp pole • Black and silver Milo 3000 fishing box • Black Preston 2 drawer fishing box • Blue Shimano fishing holdall • Blue Garbalino fishing holdall • Blue Shimano fishing carryall • 2 x Daiwa ‘Tournament’ fishing rod • 2 x Daiwa feeder rods
