DUDLEY’s youngest residents are hoping the sun will come out in time for the annual Under-5s Fun Day later this month.
The popular children’s event at Himley Park, this year takes place on Friday, June 29 and promises to be a fun-filled day out for the whole family.
With buckets and spades at the ready, children can spend the day playing in 120 tonnes of sand at ‘Himley Beach’ – which is now four times bigger than when the Dudley Council event first began 13 years ago.
Other entertainment includes free train rides on a land train, storytelling, puppet shows, as craft tent, seaside garden games, crazy golf, face painting, donkey rides, mini funfair rides and a play area.
Councillor Tracy Wood, cabinet member for environment and culture, said: “This annual event attracts thousands of people for a day of family fun and I’m sure it will be as popular as ever this time around.”
The event runs from 10am until 3pm and admission is just £3.50 per adult and children aged between two and five. There is free entry for children under two.
A family ticket for two adults and two children costs £12 and there is free car parking throughout the day.
All children must be accompanied by an adult.
