QUARRY Bank am dram fanatics decided to give holidaymakers in the Caribbean a taste of their forthcoming pirate outing on a recent sunshine break.
Quarry Bank Operatic Society is gearing up to stage the popular comic opera Pirates of Penzance in Netherton later this year.
But while on a trip to the Caribbean musical director Richard Ganner and cast member Lawson Siviter gathered quite a crowd on a sunkissed beach when they decided to act out a scene from the show.
In the meantime, the group is desperately seeking a sponsor to enable them to buy a new keyboard for the production as they say the old one is about to “walk the plank and die”.
The show, one of Gilbert and Sullivan’s most popular comic operas, will be presented at Netherton Arts Centre, Northfield Road, from Tuesday September 25 to Saturday September 29.
For tickets, priced £10 to £13, call Linda Raybould on 01384 820902. Or anyone wishing to sponsor the group can call Julia Siviter on 07948 394579.
