A KINGSWINFORD church is celebrating after its annual flower festival helped grow church coffers by thousands of pounds.
Hundreds of people called St Mary's Church, The Village, for an Olympic themed event which ran from Friday July 13 to Monday July 16.The show raised more than £2,000 for church renovations.
A range of floral displays reflected different sports and the Olympic spirit, while music from a number of school choirs, Phoenix (West Midlands) Brass Band, Lydia Hackett, Kingswinford Lady Singers and St Mary's Church Choir added to the atmosphere.
Margaret Penn, deputy church warden, said: "The busy four days produced many wonderful comments from visitors as well as generating funds for the continuing restoration of our twelfth century church."
