AMBLECOTE History Society is on the move to a new home at the revamped Ruskin Glass Centre.
The society, which meets on the second Wednesday of each month, will be getting its programme of events under way the Wollaston Road centre on Wednesday September 12 at 7.30pm, with a talk by Brian Draper MBE on the River Severn from its source on Plynlimmon to Bridgnorth.
The talk will include discussion of the river's natural history and the history of the towns, villages and people associated with the places along its route.
Helen Cook, from Amblecote History Society, said: "We hope the new venue will allow us to deliver the same friendly atmosphere and interesting talks as before, but in a more central location.
"The Ruskin Centre aims to involve the local community in its activities, and the Society is one of the first groups to make use of the new facilities."
The talk will be open to non-society members, for more information visit www.amblecotehistorysociety.org.uk
