A KINGSWINFORD supermarket will be offering NHS flu jabs from mid September so customers can combine their weekly shop with a chance to stave off the virus this winter.
Morrisons Kingswinford in Charterfield Shopping Centre will offer vaccinations as part of a new locally commissioned Community Pharmacy Flu Vaccination Service to support GP surgeries.
The in-store pharmacy at the supermarket is one of a handful of accredited pharmacies in Kingswinford able to provide a NHS flu vaccination service.
It costs £8 for a jab but people aged 65 and over and in ‘at risk’ groups will receive the vaccination free of charge.
Simon Lam, Morrisons Pharmacy operations manager, said: “We are pleased to offer eligible customers a free flu vaccination via this new locally commissioned Community Pharmacy Flu Vaccination Service.
“We’ll also continue to offer the service as a convenient alternative for anyone who is ineligible for a vaccine at their General Practitioner, to ensure flu vaccines are more accessible to everyone.”
Vaccines will be administered by Morrisons pharmacists and the service will run until March.
