A GROUP of Black Country artists hope to prove a big draw when they showcase their skills at a public exhibition in Dudley.

The Black Country Urban Sketchers will be revealing their work at Dudley's Artspace from Monday September 7 until the end of the month.

The Sketchers will receive an official seal of approval when the Mayor and Mayoress of Dudley, Councillor Steve Waltho and his wife Jayne, will officially open the event on September 7 at 7pm.

Sketchers group organiser Jacky Fellows said: "The group meets up once or twice a month to sketch. We draw at various locations, either indoors or outside, but always around the Black Country.

"Our drawings tell the story of the surroundings where we live."

Black Country Community Radio presenter Steve Welch will also be exhibiting his work with the Sketchers.

He takes any line or scribble and turns it into a full sketch. His doodles are already considered a work of art.
