LIVESTOCK exhibitors have been recognised for their hard work at the annual Malvern Farming Conference.
Introduced to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee year, the Diamond Jubilee Trophy, sponsored by Bruton Knowles, was awarded to exhibitors with the most points gained in the cattle, sheep and pig sections at both the Three Counties Show and the National Rare and Minority Breeds Show, in June.
There were six trophies up for grabs but only five were awarded, with a three-way tie for the Cattle Cup, between Otter & Co, Whitland (Murray Grey cattle), J & P Stanley, Coalville (Longhorn Cattle) and A & C Farms, Rutland (South Devon).
J & P Stanley also won the cup for the Rare Breeds Cattle section.
Simon Johns of Shrewsbury won both sheep sections, with his Leicester Longwool and Judith Sims of Clevedon won both trophies in the pig section with her Gloucester Old Spots.
The winners received their trophies from Gavin Loynes and Roger Bush, both partners at Bruton Knowles.
Points awarded were: Breed Champion (2), Reserve Champion (1), First Prize (5), Second Prize (3) and Third Prize (2). A maximum of five animals counted for each exhibitor and group classes were not included.
The Three Counties Show 2013 takes place between June 14 and 16 in 2013.
