Winter weather leaves Stourbridge fundraisers out in the cold

THE recent winter weather has left fundraisers out in the cold at the British Heart Foundation shop in Stourbridge.

Stock levels, which were already in decline due to a rise in the popularity of selling goods at car boot sales and internet auction sites, suffered another blow after people struggled to bring donations to the High Street store when the region was gripped by snow and ice.

Staff say without donated items to sell the charity's work fighting heart disease will be badly affected.

Stourbridge BHF shop manager, Angela Harrison, said: "Stock is the lifeblood of our shops, everyone can help by donating any unwanted clothing, shoes, accessories, CDs, DVDs, books, toys and bric-a-brac.

"For those who are unable to bring items to the shop personally we can arrange a free collection to ensure those vital donations are still making it into the shop."

To book a free collection call the shop on 01384 374372.
