A DISPERSAL order has been authorised in a hotspot for anti-social behaviour in Hagley, following a rise in complaints from concerned residents.

The order means police officers will have the power to move on groups of people who are deemed to be behaving in a threatening or alarming manner to other individuals, or are likely to take part in criminal activity.

The order, issued by Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) inspector Gareth Keyte, will run from Friday, September 29 to Sunday, October 1.

Inspector Kaeyte, of Bromsgrove SNT, said: "We strive to protect our communities from harm at all times and this dedicated patrol plan is in direct response to concerns from members of the public.

"Officers from the local Safer Neighbourhood team will continue to monitor the Sweetpool Lane area and we will take action against anyone who is deemed to be behaving inappropriately.

"Information from the community is an invaluable tool in tackling anti-social related activity however, and we are keen to engage with them.

"We will listen to any concerns they have and attempt to resolve any issues they raise with us.

"Our team will also investigate any reports of criminal activity or anti-social behaviour and as such, we would urge people who have concerns to get in touch."

Residents with concerns about crime or anti-social behaviour should call police on 101.
