A WORDSLEY theatre group's ‘exciting new chapter’ is in full swing at a new home.

Darker Shores is Wordsley Amateur Dramatic Society’s first production at Crestwood School, Bromley Lane, and organisers say it will be a ‘play unlike any other’.

Mark Jones, co-director of the play, said: “The brand-new facilities at the Crestwood School has opened so many more doors for our society.

“We feel we can now give our audience an all-round fantastic experience at our productions.”

The site boasts surround sound, tiered seating and adjustable lighting facilities.

The group has moved from its previous home at Kingswinford Methodist Church hall, where they had performed for thirty years.

Darker Shores is a Victorian ghost story set in a haunted sea-house in Sussex. A chilling encounter brings a professor and American spiritualist together to investigate the strange goings-on.

The play, written by Michael Punter, is the directorial debut of Amanda Palmer, 23, and Mark Jones, 21.

Amanda Palmer said: “I couldn't have asked for a better co-director than Mark.

“As our directorial debut, we have played to each other’s strengths. Together, we have brought this play to life.”

Darker Shores runs until Saturday February 3 and tickets are available now.
