YOBS took just hours to leave their mark on a new Stourbridge community building after security fencing was removed.
Graffiti vandals sprayed their codenames, known as tags, on most of the outside shutters at the newly opened Healthy Hub building in Mary Stevens Park.
The attacks happened overnight between Sunday October 31 and November 1, police say they are appalled by the incident and are determined to catch those responsible.
Norton neighbourhood sergeant, Keith Pagan, said: "I can not believe that this is how youths treat buildings that have been provided for their enjoyment and for the benefit of the local community.
“Some of the Graffiti is distinctive and includes such tags as ‘aris’ and ‘next hype’.”
The building was occupied until late on the evening of the attack by Stourbridge police who were hosting a free barbecue event for young people aimed at reducing trick or treating on Halloween.
Sgt Pagan said: “Someone local will know who is responsible for this damage especially other youngsters that may have been present in the park on Sunday night.
“If this was local youths, I can not believe this is how we get repaid.”
