EAST will meet west in Stourbridge next month as two virtuoso slide guitarists join forces.

Acclaimed blues and steel player Michael Messer has teamed up with great Hindustani guitarist Manish Pingle to put on a performance at Glasshouse Arts Centre.

The pair will also be joined in the April 17 performance by highly regarded London-based tabla player Gurdain Rayatt.

Not only is the concert a coming together of like-minded musicians but also an exploration of the ground between Messer’s blues and steel guitar and Pingle’s classical Indian slide guitar.

Over the past year, the guitar greats have experienced two sell out London shows and successful appearances at European festivals, with American magazine ‘Spirit’ even listing Michael as one of the greatest slide guitarists ever.

Tickets to the concert, which starts at 7.30pm, costs £12 for adults and £10 for concessions and can be reserved by calling 01384 399430.
