The next meeting of the Amblecote History Society will take place on October 14 starting at 7.30pm in the Furnace Theatre at The Ruskin Centre in Amblecote.

The speaker will be Andrew Lound who will relate the story of one of the most influential groups in the 18th Century, the Lunar Society, whose interests in astronomy based on new research has revealed some surprising facts.

Andrew presents his Odyssey dramatic presentation about the astronomical work of James Watt, Matthew Boulton & Joseph Priestley - a dramatic presentation, beautifully illustrated and accompanied by music and presented with 18th Century flair. Not to be missed, so arrive early to get a good seat in the larger theatre at The Ruskin Centre.

Visitors are always most welcome at a small admission charge of £2 on the door.

The society meets on every second Wednesday of the month and enjoys a varied programme with outdoor meetings during the summer months.
