HISTORIC arms and weapons used by both sides during the First World War will be the main topic for discussion at the next Amblecote History Society .

David Dunham will look at the array of weapons available for use by soldiers at the beginning of the Great War, along with the amount of development, improvisation and innovation that took place throughout the whole campaign.

This included the advancement in methods of protection and survival for the soldier at the front.

The talk also features some of the local involvement in the weaponry and includes the largest display that David shares of period exhibits.

There will also be an opportunity for a closer view of the small arms collection once the talk is completed.

Meeting on Wednesday, November 11, in The Lehr Theatre at the Ruskin Glass Centre, the group’s talk begins at 7.30pm with an admission charge of £2 for non-members.
