SCHOOLS, groups and clubs across Stourbridge are getting the chance to receive free sports and cooking equipment as Sainsbury’s Active Kids scheme returns to its Amblecote store.
Customers will receive one voucher for every £10 they spend in the supermarket, which groups can then exchange for goodies.
Since the scheme was launched in 2005, more than £170 million worth of equipment and experiences have been donated to registered groups.
Kevin Healy, store manager at Sainsbury’s Amblecote, said: “The Active Kids scheme is a brilliant way for our customers and colleagues to support schools, groups and clubs in the area.
“We love working with organisations and seeing the benefits the equipment and experiences have brought to the children.”
The scheme has also expanded to help inspire healthy eating for children, and includes items of cooking equipment to get them involved.
There is also a range of free cooking and nutrition toolkits which are available for teachers to help children learn about a balanced diet.
