IT was curtain up this week on new state-of-the-art dressing rooms at Brierley Hill Civic Hall.

The dancefloor and backstage areas at the Bank Street venue have just been given an overhaul.

And two of the four dressing rooms have been fully modernised and kitted out with new mirrors and lighting. One of the rooms also has en-suite shower facilities.

The new rooms can comfortably hold between 15 and 20 people and are ideal for larger scale musical and dance productions.

Air conditioning may is also being considered to add a final professional touch.

Councillor David Stanley, Dudley’s cabinet member the environment and culture, said: “Brierley Hill Civic Hall is the largest theatre in the borough and these two refurbished dressing rooms should be a boon to local performers.

“The halls staff have done an excellent job in bringing the venue up to date and the renovated dance floor will be a hit with audiences.”

The Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Pat Martin, officially opened the new dressing rooms on Wednesday October 28.
