The existing committee will continue after the Annual General Meeting took place.

Members reflected on another good year with a varied programme of speakers and excellent trips.

However, members were warned that speakers were having to increase their costs due to fuel charges and the club is having to go further afield for speakers. After 11 years, the club has almost drained resources locally and the standard of the speakers is the most important factor for the club. The meeting provided a visual tour of some interesting gardens and a quick peek at two of the gardens which will be visited in 2013.

Brian Ellis, a nurseryman from Avonsdale Nurseries, near Coventry, will be giving a practical demonstration of propagation called ‘Roots and Shoots’ on Wednesday, March 13. Brian has some wonderful plants at the nursery and he will bring a selection to the meeting.

On Sunday March 17, Little Malvern Court will be open to the public for the NGS from 2pm to 5pm. Admission is £5, children 50p.

‘Hedgehogs’ by Helen Weldon of Wyre Forest Hedgehog Rescue, will be the topic for the meeting on Wednesday, April 10.

Meetings are held at Chaddesley Corbett Village Hall at 7.30pm for coffee and chat to start at 8pm.
