The chairman, Helen Greenway, welcomed members to the first meeting of the new year.Both the secretary and the treasurer gave their up to date reports.The Federation report was given by Joyce Knotts. A trip to Liverpool is being arranged on April 20 to visit both cathedrals and then the waterfront.

At the Federation AGM on April 15 there is to be an arts and crafts display, and several Norton members will show items. The annual inter-guild quiz will be held on June 1 at Stourbridge football club. Blankets are still required for the fistula hospital, although not in such great numbers as before.

Knitted baby clothes would be very welcome. The speaker for the evening was Shirley Jones who talked about the role of extras in films and TV. Raffle prizes were won by Christina Edwards and Barbara Pearcey. Plans are being made to celebrate our 50th anniversary with a lunch on May 5. The meeting on March 23 is the official 50th birthday.
