Oldswinford E Townswomen's Guild

The last meeting before the summer break, was on July 19, when members were holding a relaxing evening, enjoying a beetle drive and fish and chip supper.

Chairman Pauline Roberts welcomed everyone and said we had been joined by two visitors.

There was no correspondence to report and, in the absence of treasurer Margaret Fennell, the chairman gave us details of the financial situation of the Guild.

Mary Stevens provided the flowers for the chairman's table which would be donated as a raffle prize at the end of the meeting.

The beetle drive was a noisy and hilarious activity and enjoyed by all members. There were prizes for the person with the highest total of points and the runner up.

A booby prize went to the member with the lowest score.

The fish and chips were welcomed and enjoyed by all members. There were raffle prizes, won by Elaine Pickersgill, Carol Penzer and Peggy Wright.

The next meeting is on September 20 and the speaker will be Rose Winnall whose topic will be "A wildlife garden". The group meets at Oldswinford Primary School in Field Lane, Oldswinford 7.30pm. New members are always welcome.
