A NEW post box has popped up in Pedmore after a pensioner's campaigner teamed up with MP Margot James.
Dorothy Clarke, chairman of Pedmore Senior Citizens Club, enlisted Ms James's support in her quest to have a box installed on Pedmore Road following the closure of the area's post office in 2008.
After pressure on Jo Swinson, the government minister for postal services, from Ms James the post box has been replaced.
Dorothy Clarke said: “I am so pleased that Margot has been able to get the residents of Pedmore a new post box. The members of Pedmore Senior Citizens Club are absolutely delighted. I know that we will all be making good use of the post box in months and years to come.”
Margot said: “I know that people really value having a post box within walking distance, and this is especially crucial for older people and those with reduced mobility."
