A FORMER Stourbridge ambulance driver is one of two paramedics hosting an art exhibition throughout this month.

Mike Kedian and his pal Pete Dunn are hosting a display of oil paintings, pencil drawings, ink drawings and life paintings in an exhibition at Kidderminster Library.

The 73-year-old, who is retired from West Midlands Ambulance Service, but works as an ambulance driver in his spare time, held the role full-time for nine years prior to his job as a commercial artist of 40 years.

He is now looking forward to putting on his first ever exhibition.

Mike said: “I have entered exhibitions before but this is the first exhibition I have done for myself, so I’m excited to put it on and I hope people can enjoy it.

“The exhibition will show work from the 1960s when everything used to be hand-drawn so we hope this will be of interest to people."

Work by 55-year-old Pete, of Quinton, who has worked full-time as an ambulance driver for 16 years, will include pencil drawings of famous characters from films and music.

The free open exhibition, titled ‘First Aid for Art’, will run at the library until July 28, with donations to Lye’s Midlands Air Ambulance welcome.
