A HOLE which appeared in the car park of a Stourbridge firm is not a sinkhole but a well, the property owners have said.

The hole, which on the surface is only half a metre long and less than a quarter metre wide, was discovered on Wednesday (October 5) by staff members of leaseholders Cherry Kitchens who claimed it was a sinkhole.

However, joint owner of the property, Dr Ajaz Ahmed, said following an investigation it has been confirmed that the hole is in fact a well.

Dr Ahmed, of Zas Property Ltd, said: “I was contacted two day ago by the tenant who said there was a hole that appeared in the car park.

“I informed the council about it, but I had contractors go out to it today and they have confirmed it is not a sinkhole but a well.

“We are looking at getting it sorted and filled as quickly as we can, and there is no risk to the property or the area.

“We currently have the property up for sale and I don’t want prospective buyers to think that there is a sinkhole there when there isn’t.”
