STOURBRIDGE Historical Society's next meeting will feature a talk about the Anglo Saxons who founded Mercia and England.
GP Dr Richard Denning will be speaking about ‘Life in Mercia: AD 600’ at the event in the Wollaston Room at Stourbridge Town Hall at Thursday October 27.
Dr Denning, who has a practice in north Birmingham, is an author of historical fiction and historical fantasy novels and is a new speaker to the group.
In his illustrated talk, which starts at 7.30pm, will be explaining what life was like for the incoming Anglo-Saxons, who they were and why they came to these islands. It will also outline what they wore, ate and cultivated.
