A NEW housing support drop-in session has been launched in Stourbridge by Dudley Council following success in other borough areas.

The local authority’s housing department provides a free support service, ranging from budgeting and finances, welfare benefits, completing a range of application forms and available local resources, to anyone needing assistance to maintain their independence.

The sessions will be held on the first and third Monday of every month at Lion Health Centre, in Lowndes Road, from 1.30pm until 3.30pm, providing individuals with the opportunity to discuss their difficulties.

Councillor Gaye Partridge, cabinet member for housing, said: “We have drop in sessions throughout the borough to ensure as many residents have access to the free service as possible.

“Anyone worried about keeping their home or maintaining their independence can just drop into one of the sessions, as no appointment is necessary.

“They can have a chat to someone who is impartial, put things into context and gather help and advice.

“I hope those visiting, or living near, Stourbridge, take up the opportunity to visit the service to find out more.”
