Black Country Society
The 50th AGM was held at Dudley Canal Trust on March 22.
The new president Keith Hodgkins was installed. He is a keen and well respected local historian, having special interests in transport and industrial archaeology.. In his acceptance speech Keith spoke of his long time association with the society, joining as a young man over forty years ago. It will be a busy time for Keith representing the society in this its bi-centenary year.
A presentation of a miner’s lamp was also made to retiring treasurer Tony Copson. Chairman James Morgan thanked him for his dedicated years of service spanning two decades-Tony will stay on as a committee member. His position as treasurer has been filled by local accountant Aaron Hickman. A bouquet of flowers was also presented to Jo Copson who had supported her husband throughout his term of office.
