ORGANISERS are hoping for a knobbly knees up at the annual Mary Stevens Hospice summer fete next month.

The event is set to take place in the grounds of the Oldswinford hospice off Hagley Road on Saturday July 14.

And for the first-time - organisers have lined-up a knobbly knees contest and a glamorous granny competition.

There will also be a host of stalls, a tombola, dance and fitness displays, competitions, refreshments, barbecue, children’s corner, animal encounters with some of the smaller inhabitants of Dudley Zoo, a penalty shoot out and tours of the hospice day therapy clinic.

The event will run from 11am to 3.30pm but the 2488 (Kingswinford) Squadron ATC Band will warm things up from 10.30am with a marching display on the lawns near the hospice entrance.

The knobbly knees and glamorous granny competitions will start at 1pm.

Donations for stalls and the tombola are still being sought.

Anyone with items to donate can call 01384 377778 or drop goods off at the fundraising office in the lower car park at the hospice.
