SPORTS enthusiasts packed into Wall Heath Community Centre for the official launch of historian and writer Terry Church's latest book entitled 57 Black Country Sportsmen.
It was a case of standing room only as over 140 people attended the event, which included 19 of the sportsmen featured in his book.
One of them, former horse racing jockey Geoff Baxter, who originates from Wall Heath, travelled from his home in Newmarket especially for the launch.
Terry said: "When I interviewed Geoff, he told me at the time that he'd turn up for the launch and he did.
"It was an excellent morning. We sold 135 books at the launch and from the original print run, there's only 120 copies left.
"People have already been asking me when I'm going to do another one."
