FUNDRAISING events organised by a big-hearted fish and chip shop boss raised £430 for two charities linked to his trade.

Loucas Partali, of Wollaston Fish Bar, a loyal supporter of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and the Fishermen’s Mission, opened his shop on Sunday November 10 between 5pm and 9pm and raised £330 for the RNLI.

And a follow up fundraiser on Monday November 11, part of National Federation of Fish Friers’ Chip In for Charity centenary promotion, which saw Mr Partali issuing 100 vouchers to pensioners to enable them to buy a fish and chip cone for £1 - raised an extra £100 for the Fishermen’s Mission which supports UK fishermen and their families.

RNLI Stourbridge branch secretary Sue Coombes said: “We very much appreciate Loucas Partali's generosity.

“What is even more fantastic is that his wonderful staff took it in turns to work that night and donated their pay to the RNLI.

“Lots of people took advantage of Wollaston Fish Bar's opening on Sunday and we are very grateful to them."
