The members held their monthly meeting at Stourbridge Institute on June 15, which was chaired by Adam Greathead . Guild members had enjoyed a day out atSavill Gardens Windsor on June 14, and thanked Jim Baker for organising this, he also had the very pleasant duty of presenting a Life Membership award to a very surprised Guild Treasurer June Baker.

President Eric Southall addressed the meeting and said the presidents plant sale had now totalled £650.88, proceeds being donated to Crossroads Dudley Adam then introduced the speaker for the evening Dave Morgan whose talk was entitled “I’m not much good at gardening”.

Adam thanked Dave for a most interesting and humorous talk, and the members responded in the usual manner.

The first prize winners in the monthly show were: One lettuce E Southall; Seven radishes J Knight; Seven Broad Bean M Grice; One corsage J James; Vase garden flowers M Hodgin; One specimen rose M Grice; One lemon drizzle cake A Robinson; Six cheese straws U Langley; Photo of spring flowers A Willetts.

The next meeting will be held on July 20 when the Guild will host a round of the “Morgan Shield” quiz competition, welcoming three other teams.
