AN award-winning Stourbridge salon has made it through the first round in two categories of a national competition.

Wollaston-based Tim Scott-Wright @ The Hair Surgery will now compete with salons from across the Midlands in the regional finals of the L'Oréal Colour Trophy Awards 2016.

In the first round, the teams – led by colourist Abbie-Lou Hadley and stylist Darren Joshua – fought off stiff competition when they were judged by some of the most influential names in hairdressing, including the Sally and Jamie Brooks, Adam Reed and Charles Worthington.

But they were successfully chosen to go through to the next round of the competition – the Backstage Live Regional Finals – in both the L'Oréal Colour Trophy Award and the L'Oréal Men’s Image Award categories, which will take place on April 12 at Aston Villa FC.

Tim Scott-Wright, proprietor, said: “This is the first time that we have put teams forward for this completion – so we are delighted that we have made it to the live regional finals.”

From the next round of live events, the top four salons will go forward in the colour trophy category and the top two from the men’s category to compete at the grand final on June 13 in London.
