FESTIVE joy will be brought to children across the Midlands as a Wollaston pub gets set to host a charity Christmas grotto.
From Friday (November 25), The Britannia Sports Bar, in High Street, will be turned into a winter wonderland where children can visit Santa and receive a special gift.
Santa will be in the grotto each day, until Christmas Eve, between 4pm and 8pm on weekdays and noon until 8pm at weekends.
The grotto will also be raising money to buy presents for the all of the youngsters at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
Lisa Sutherland, event organiser, said: “As parents, Christmas is all about our children and this is a way we can pull together and put a smile on all the boys and girls spending Christmas in hospital.
“We aim to do this by purchasing every child staying in Birmingham Children’s Hospital on Christmas Eve a gift to make them smile.”
Entry into the grotto costs £5 per person, with every child also receiving a gift from Santa.
Lisa added: “We will also have lots of hot chocolate with marshmallows to warm the little ones tummies, and a space to write a letter to Santa with an optional free return letter.
“There will also be a photo opportunity for mums and dads to capture the moment.”
