The February meeting was opened by chairman of the day Liz Hubbard, who welcomed three new members. Member, Doris Jackson, was presented with a card and lovely basket of flowers, from the Guild, and ‘Happy Birthday’ was sung, to celebrate her 90th birthday this month.

Ann Birchell gave details of the St Georges Day event on April 23, taking place at Wollaston Village Hall.

Lord Cobham and Pat Green are the speakers followed by a fish and chip lunch and then entertainment by the Federation and Guilds, plus tea and cakes. Cost £7. The AGM at Cardiff is on June 18 and a coach is being arranged. The Annual Lunch at The Mill is arranged for July 28 and a Harvest Lunch on October 1 is at Wollaston Village Hall.

The Guild Lunch Club will meet at The Bell, Kingswinford on March 3 and the birthday lunch is booked for April 28 at tHimley Country Hotel.

Coffee Mornings will re-commence from March 12 at the home of Pat Hadley, 10.30am.

Barbara Taylor told members of theatre outings – TAB is performing ‘Copacabana’ at Brierley Hill Civic Hall on April 12. Sister Act on May 14 is at The Grand, Wolverhampton, cost £17.50 A previous speaker, Mr Hook – ‘Mother of Pearl’ – has invited members to visit his factory in May or June, date to be confirmed.

The Monday meeting for April will be on the 14th not 21st and will be at the Richardson Hall, Lawnswood Road, Wordsley as the Community Centre is not available on the usual Monday morning.

The next meeting is on March 17 which will be the Annual General Meeting followed by a buffet of medley of cheeses and biscuits. All meetings are held at Wordsley Green Community Centre, third Monday every month (except April’s meeting) at 10am.
