A WORDSLEY vehicle repair garage was this morning counting the cost after a devastating blaze destroyed six luxury cars.
At the height of the incident eight fire appliances and a hydraulic platform were at the scene at Central Sports Cars in Plant Street yesterday (Thursday) at around 3.50pm and smoke could be seen billowing across Wordsley.
At one stage firefighters had to withdraw from the building for safety as the flames engulfed the roof, West Midlands Fire Service said.
"Assertive firefighting", however, managed to save five luxury vehicles from being destroyed, the service confirmed.
