The November meeting was opened by chairman of the day Liz Hubbard who welcomed a large audience of members and visitors. The minutes of the previous meeting, prepared by secretary, Liz Moseley, was signed and a statement of accounts was available for members to peruse.

The Federation Report included: a flower demonstration on December 7 and the Annual Carol Service of which a poster was placed on the Guild notice board.

The Guild Lunch Club. The Christmas Lunch outing on Monday 5th December will take place at The Lodge, Wellington Road, Dudley, 12 for 12.30pm. Balance of cost was paid.

Coffee Mornings. The usual meetings will take a break and resume in February.

Barbara Taylor suggested the next theatre outing will be to The Grand Theatre, Wolverhampton to the production of ‘Rock of Ages’ in April.

The Comic Relief project is progressing well with members and friends producing many craft items for a table sale at the December 19 meeting. There will also be a coffee morning, open to the public, to be held at Wordsley Green Community Centre on January 23 to raise further funds.

Liz then introduced Pat Clements who gave an excellent presentation entitled 'A wildlife garden'. A stream at the end of his garden attracted birds of all kinds including kingfishers, grey wagtails etc., he has also seen the rare spotted woodpecker. Pat encouraged us to introduce plants to attract bees, butterflies and other insects, wild flowers in particular. He showed us short films of foxes and badgers he had photographed, in his garden. Pat gave members and visitors a most interesting talk and film show with many suggestions of preparation and maintenance of your garden to attract wildlife of all kinds. Liz gave the vote of thanks.

The next meeting, on December 19 10am will be a Christmas Showtime event when Stan Proudman with bring his inimitable brand of entertainment with audience participation followed by refreshments of tea, coffee and cakes to conclude our meetings for the year 2016.

All meetings are held at Wordsley Green Community Centre, the third Monday each month (except coffee morning, the fourth Monday). Visitors are very welcome to any of the meetings £2.50 which includes refreshments.
