A DISABLED fitness instructor completed the London Marathon in less than five hours.

Kris Saunders-Stowe, a group exercise instructor for Wheely Good Fitness, came second in the 12 wheelchair entries with a time of 4h55m.

The Ross-on-Wye resident said: "The atmosphere there is indescribable and I did my best to soak up every bit I could as I knew the whole thing would be over in a flash if I just focused on pushing.

"The support I have been shown from friends and family not to mention all those wonderful people that donated to my fundraisers has been very humbling.

"I feel very proud of myself for managing it and to actually have 'the' medal - in addition I was also awarded the 2015 Blue Peter Sports badge by the TV crew for my achievements as a disabled person and for inspiring others to push their boundaries."

He has raised more than £2,800 for the local branches of the MS Society- following two five-hour non-stop rolling road fundraisers, the Aero-Fit fundraiser class and other donations from supporters and clients.

This Sunday Mr Saunders-Stowe and four people who attend his exercise classes will take part in the Hereford Half Marathon.
