I AM TRYING to find out the history of Dadford’s Shed, known locally as the Black Shed, or Wordsley Dock, on the Stourbridge Canal.

The Shed was built c1890 as a transhipment shed for Webbs Seeds.

I grew up at the Shed, which is currently used as a boat yard, and have many happy memories of the site.

I’m writing a conservation plan trying to set out why the site is historically significant, who it is important to and how it may be conserved in the future.

Over the years it has had various uses and must have seen many things change around it, not least the restoration of the canal and reopening in 1967.

Perhaps you worked for Webbs, or remember the site when it was derelict?

If anyone has any memories or photos of the area please get in touch.
